Deep within our soul is a space of discovery and authenticity where we sense the divine presence and acceptance. I would call this sacred space our soul's home. It is a home where we feel connected and alive, a space of knowing and being known by the Divine in fullness and wholeness, a space of resting in total love. So much of our lives are lived on the outside of this home space rather than from our center; we are distracted, busy, confused, and annoyed. We sometimes sense an inner longing for this deep connection of being known but for some reason we run away from home rather than realize, "there's no place like home."
On my sacred journey I have mostly run away from home instead of dwelling in divine love and presence. I have sought my identity in external roles and expectations from others rather than in my soul's true home/true self. The gift of spiritual direction has provided a sacred space of discovery for my soul to blossom and flourish. I have been truly blessed and receive many more blessings as I provide this sacred space for those who meet with me regularly.
